It’s here again. Starting on the 1st Novemeber 2009 and finishing midnight 30th November 2009, it’s your chance to join in with thousands of writers across the world and use Nanowrimo to get you writing in bulk. Fifty thousand words in thirty days, that 50,000 in 30 days.
Sounds a lot, but when you break it down it’s only 1667 words per day. If you type at a modest thirty (30) words per minute then that’s under one hour of typing a day for thirty days.
And on successful completion of your 50,000 words you can legitimately call yourself a novelist even though you’re currently an unpublished one.
They have a great site at http://www.nanowrimo.org/ and there are many other resources out there. Lazette Gifford has an excellent e-book that you can download from http://www.lazette.net/Free%20Stuff/NaNo.htm and it’s got lots of sound advice on being successful.
By The Way Nanowrimo stands for National Novel Writing Month. The title was selected with high hopes but who would have guessed that it would become an international phenomenon.
